when you're getting used to work with a program like HomeSite on the PC you really know how comfortable non-wysiwyg editing can be. the amiga market still lacks a program like
this. there are many efforts in making a good html editor, but all of them don't seem to be made
for the professional web programmer who needs fast, keyboard only editing, shortcuts to all html tags
with context-sensitive editing, special functions like multiple find-and-replace actions,
colored html elements, support for newer web techniques like JavaScript, HTML 4, VRML, etc.
still its much too early to talk about a version number, beta testing or anything else like this; BUT proWEB is growing and growing. if it'll be finished one day, it will certainly have the following features: ... designed for professional usage, high-end hardware, big screen sizes, graphics boards ... nice and functional, perfectly layouted GUI (maybe using MUI) ... 68030-60 optimized, ready to be ported to PowerPC ... 100% WB3.x friendly (use of clipboard, AppIcon, etc.) ... fully keyboard-shortcut controllable, multiple document editing ... fast and easy way of editing html pages (previews, html checking, etc.) ... context-sensitivity, webdesign specific functionality, not just another texteditor ... no installation needed, perfectly preconfigured, easy to configure ... online-help permanently available, making it fully self-explaining ... from the pro for the pro ... the html-editor of your choice ! |
